La Ruta Del Comiquero Premièred at Fic Santiago

Last weekend on Fic Santiago, my offside project, the chilean documentary “La Ruta Del Comiquero” was premièred.

On the Instuto Profesional Santo Tomas, and under the protection and help of Fic Santiago and Universidad Santo Tomás, we gathered a full auditorium of people to see the firsts three chapters of the film-now turned into a 8 part web series.

My fellow co-writer, German Valenzuela, and me stood in front of the crowd and, not with plenty of goosebumps, we introduced the project, which had taken 5 years in the making under the direction of Nico Lorca and his team at Introfilms.

this was an investigation that wants to answer the question: “Is Chile a comic book related country?” so, since we were not the main characters of the film, we invited two great people, wise men, and graphic arts and publishing professionals to help us develop the discussion we want to create towards this subject. Marcelo Perez Dalannays, owner of and Alfredo Rodríguez, writer, colorist, comic book creator and now publisher of we discussed about the current chilean comic book scene, professional situation and character heritage in Chile.

I think it was a good time and I felt people were interested in the film.

Remember that the first chapter will be released in our Introfilms Youtube Channel at next Monday Apr. 20th

Pictures are taken by FICSANTIAGO production staff.
